I grew up watching my father, Tom Skirvin, help people navigate their insurance needs. He started in the industry in 1984, and by 2012, I knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I left my job at a factory and began selling Medicare and life insurance under his agency. For four years, we worked side by side selling policies, recruiting agents, and building something meaningful together.
When my dad passed away in 2016, I made a promise to continue his work and carry forward the values he taught me: put people first, always.
For years, I met with clients face-to-face in their homes across Kentucky and surrounding states. But when COVID-19 hit in 2020, I had to adapt quickly. I launched a TV advertising campaign and discovered I could help even more seniors by offering consultations over the phone, all while giving them the same personalized service from the safety and comfort of their homes.
That success led us to expand our reach. In 2020, we were able to do just that and we now serve seniors across seven states: Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida.
My wife, Denise, is the backbone of R&D Senior Solutions. She works alongside me every day, ensuring our operations run smoothly so we can focus on serving our clients. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence means every client receives the personal care and follow-through they deserve.
Together, we've built an agency that truly puts people first.
